Details

The 1/2 inch diameter SealBoss 13-100B Type Injector is a longer brass type mechanical packer equipped with a with a zerk fitting. This is brass type mechanical injection packer is recommended for professional crack injection where the packer has to inserted deeper into the drill holes in areas of poor substrate quality. Deeper packer insertion can prevent concrete from spalling and permits higher injection pressures.

  • Bottom anti-return valve permits removal of head prior to patching drill holes.
  • Suitable for PU, EP, and Silicate grouts.
  • Bestseller – a SealBoss Standard

Mechanical injection packers and injection ports are the gateway to successful injection. There are two primary categories of packers available. Insertable mechanical packers and surface mounted ports. SealBoss mechanical packers for grouting are made from steel, brass, aluminum, zinc, various metal alloys and plastic. There are important differences in design and functionality for a variety of products, substrates and objectives. Contractor preferences and comfort levels are also a deciding factor.

Mechanical packers come with zerk fittings and button heads (slide fittings). The zerk type is more commonly used and is less costly. It easily connects and disconnects and works nicely with medium to high injection pressures. The button head type can be of advantage in high volume applications and offers a superior connection which is helpful for single operator injection or large applications. "Injection pressure" are the keywords. To determine a quality packer, it must withstand high injection pressures without leaking and moving out of its drill hole.

Brass, aluminum & zinc packers are economical alternatives to steel packers with similar functionality. The overall strength is lower than steel, brass, zinc and aluminum packers bodies are softer. In some designs, the shaft can be broken off by hammer after injection thus leaving a flush surface. This is an advantage if removal of packer prior to patching is not specified.
