Tacky Tape SM5601 exhibits aggressive initial adhesion. It is easily compressed, and will easily accommodate dimensional changes in a detail where movement is anticipated.

Basic Uses

SM5601 Sealant Tapes are used in fabrication details found in many industries. Outdoor lighting fixtures, curtain wall fixed joints, skylight details, fenestration details, panel dampening applications, and transportation industry vision lites are but a few of the diverse areas where these sealant tapes can be used. It can also be used to seal joint details found in assembly and fabrication operations where a high-solids, non-drying preformed sealant is required.

SM5601 may be factory or field applied. No primers are required to obtain adhesion. Clean substrates are required for optimum adhesion.

Tests indicate that the tape exhibits resistance to ultraviolet and infrared radiation, atmospheric hydrocarbon contamination and extremes in temperature. The tape will not craze acrylic or polycarbonate plastic surfaces.
