P.W. Gillibrand #60 Silver Sand is a 60 mesh (60 grit) silica sand milled in Simi Valley, CA and stocked at our branches in California, Utah, and Colorado. Sold by the 50 lb bag, 56 bags per pallet. Ship it or pick it up at the store. The 50 lb bag replaces our 100 lb bag. Same silica sand, same specifications, half the lift.

What is #60 sand?

#60 sand is silica sand graded around a US #60 sieve. Gillibrand's #60 has an effective size of 0.12 to 0.20 mm, with most of the material retained on the #50 and #70 screens. It is the finest silica sand we stock, well below #30 and a long way from #16.

Is 60 mesh sand coarse or fine?

Fine. #60 is the smallest grain in the Gillibrand silver sand line we carry. It is the sand for smooth finish coats, fine grout, polymer concrete, and filtration beds that need a tight grain. If the job needs texture or blasting bite, step up to #30, #20, or #16.
