SS4044P Primer is formulated for use with Momentive Performance Materials RTV silicone rubber adhesive sealants. Momentive Performance Materials single-component products offer primerless adhesion to many substrates. Primers are used to help promote adhesion to difficult-to-bond substrates. For most Momentive Performance Materials two-component products, a primer is required when an adhesive bond is needed between the silicone rubber compound and a non-silicone surface. All primers are single-component products requiring no mixing and are supplied ready-to-use as easily pourable solvent solutions.

Application

SS4044P Primer is a candidate for adhesion promotion on anodized & painted aluminum, mill & conversion-coated aluminum, metals & galvanized metals, copper, brass, painted & stainless steel, brick, concrete, stone, terra cotta, unglazed ceramics, plastics and wood. May prove useful on other items as well.
Most typical applications require only a few minutes of drying time prior to application of the sealant (drying time is variable and dependent upon local conditions at point of use). See typical properties table for drying times.
These silicone primer solutions are compatible with all GE branded construction silicone products lines. Consult Technical Services for specific sealant-primer-substrate recommendations or testing.
